Axioms for Reflexive Epistemology
Axiom 1: The way we organize ourselves to produce knowledge will determine the knowledge we produce (J. Gonzalez).
Axiom 2: Knowledges are produced in a context of antagonism expressed in conflictive social relations and competing social ecologies.
Axiom 3: All "data" is socially constructed, therefore all "evidence" requires evaluation and critique.
Axiom 4: Every act of knowing brings forth a world (F. Varela and H. Maturana); therefore the task of the researcher(s) is to engage that world and its impact.
Axiom 5: Research and direct action are inextricably linked.
